ABC News correspondent Matt Gutman is leaving the network to join CBS News as the first major on-air hire by new editor-in-chief Bari Weiss. The move comes as CBS seeks a replacement anchor for “Evening News,” following recent departures announced by co-hosts John Dickerson and Maurice DuBois.
Former Fox 4 anchor Hanna Battah has announced her new job after leaving the North Texas station in October. Battah, a Minnesota native, wrote on Facebook earlier this week that she is joining ABC News to co-anchor “World News Now” and “Good Morning America First Look” with Sophie Flay.

Many of the on-air journalists at WRAL, ABC11 and CBS 17 have left for jobs in other markets, but some have stayed in the Triangle. WRAL’s Laura Leslie, for example, left the station in September after 14 years as its capitol bureau chief to became editor of the state-focused nonprofit news outlet NC Newsline.
