When news broke on Monday that Offset, one-third of the Migos, had been shot outside of a casino in Florida, the immediate reaction was skepticism followed by prayers. His presence at a Florida casino seemed normal, typical for any adult visitor of the state wanting to have a good time and try to win a quick buck or two at the craps table.

Offset’s net worth is the result of his record sales, his touring revenue, and his brand deals. From September 2017 to September 2018, Migos earned a total of $25 million (with Offset’s cut being presumably $8 million), thanks to a packed touring schedule that saw the group perform 93 shows in 12 months.

Migos’ rise to the top was years in the making. Originally formed in 2008, Atlanta rappers Quavo, Takeoff and Offset started out with the name “Polo Club.” They basically grew up together. Quavo is Takeoff’s uncle, and Offset is Quavo’s cousin. Eventually, the trio decided on “Migos” as their rap debut name, and the rest was history.
